As a hairstylist, I'm actually not the biggest fan of Christmas. There I said it! Between working crazy long hours to get all my clients in, to all the swarms of people at stores shopping, I prefer a more lowkey celebration.

And I cannot stand giving gifts JUST to give something. I want whatever I give to be useful, something they'll use, or something that they've been eyeing for months but won't pull the trigger on. Those are my gift jams. 

So I've compiled a list of my all-time favorite things that I've bought for myself. Some things are hair related, some things are not. It's just an all around gift guide for the hairstylists beauty queen that also enjoys taking care of her health!

GIFTS UNDER $10

TONGUE SCRAPER

Definitely starting off with the least glamorous gift, but still a great stocking stuffer gift for anyone. Tongue scraping is an easy way to detox your body. Totally important to hairstylists since we have high chemical exposure in the salon.

When you first wake up, you use the scraper on your tongue to get rid of any bacteria that accumulated there from sleeping. So do this before you brush your teeth or drink any water.

THE ORDINARY MARULA OIL

This oil is liquid gold, without the hefty price tag! I love the texture of it and it's not too heavy to where your face is gonna feel super greased up after using it. I've already gone through three bottles of this product, and don't plan on slowing down! 

THE ORDINARY SQUALENE CLEANSER

Along the lines of the last product, this is a super gentle cleanser for all skin types. Between using this cleanser and the oil the past few months, my dramatic skin (acne prone, oily, sensitive, rosacea) is the most clear and calm it's been in years!

FRAMAR GATOR GRIPS

These clips are great to use at home and in the salon, especially when working with thick hair. Gone are the days of clips slipping and falling out of your 3-heads-of-hair client. And really, you can't go wrong buying any FRAMAR products. They rock!

INVISIBOBBLE HAIR TIES

These are the only hair ties I will use! They won't leave you with kinked hair or tension headaches from your topknot, and reduce damage on your hair.

NAVITAS IMMUNITY BLEND

This product is my main babe! It's a probiotic, mushroom elixir, immune boosting powder that does NOT taste like dirt. This is going to keep you regular (if ya know what I mean), feed that good gut health for strong mental health, and keep you from getting sick from your clients. 

I recommend this product to anyone that wants to be healthier but is overwhelmed with where to start! If you're a morning rusher type person, you can leave this at the salon along with a small protein bottle shaker and set a routine of using it before your first client comes in. 

TRAVEL WATER BOTTLE

To go along with the last product, get yourself a water bottle you like and carry it like it's your baybay! This ensures that you're always reminding yourself to chug water and stay hydrated. You can go with a protein bottle shaker, or larger clear tumbler. If you want something that will keep your water hot/cold, look for something that is double insulated.

COLLAGEN PEPTIDES

Ahh, my other bae! Collagen is the secret fountain of youth! It strengthens your hair/skin/nails, heals your stomach lining for better gut health, AND protects your joints from all the blowdrying you do.

Anytime I stop using this product, my skin loses its glow and my nails get super brittle. That's one way I know it's actually working when I do take it. I usually add it to my morning cup of coffee. It's tasteless and easily dissolves in liquid.

AT HOME CUPPING SYSTEM

No surprise that as hairstylists we hold most of our tension in our upper back/shoulder area. Cupping is a great way to relieve those balls of tension. It works by drawing blood flows to blocked areas and forces those toxins to get flowing out. 

For the price of one cupping treatment at a spa, you can have your own at home cupping system. Of course, you'll have to bribe someone into helping you with it! Josh and I usually trade - he helps me, I help him. 

FARMACY MAKEUP MELAWAY CLEANSING BALM

The texture of this cleansing balm is so creamy dreamy. It seriously feels like butter on your skin, but only in the best way possible! My nighttime routine consists of using a small scoop of this to remove my makeup, followed by the Squalene cleanser, and finished off with the Marula Oil.

I know this stuff is legit nontoxic because it doesn't burn if it gets in my eyes. #imclumsy

FARMACY HONEY POTION HYDRATION MASK

Another skin product! This product is great for winter time when your skin is feeling dried out. It starts out as a jelly and then turns to a milky cream as it warms up on your skin. I use this product about once a week for extra hydration.

I find that the more moisturized my skin is, the less it breaks out! So no drying out for this girl!

VANTOO DENIM APRON

Such a cool hairstylist apron and inexpensive upgrade from boring black aprons. Granted this will show color dye on it, but I think that makes it look even cooler. "Yes, I'm an artist and hair is my canvas."

DAZZLE DRY NAIL SYSTEM

I love having my nails done. I feel like my life is in order when I have a fresh manicure. BUT, I also value non-toxic beauty products. Tall order when it comes to nails. This system is nontoxic, hypoallergenic, and avoids using chemical such as toluene, formaldehyde, and phthalates.

I will be totally honest in my experience, it does start chipping within a week. But I'm ok changing my polish once a week to avoid soaking my fingers in acetone for 15 minutes. #balance

BALA WEIGHTS

Ok, these are the most chic ankle/wrist weights I've ever seen. They are great to add to any bodyweight exercises to increase the intensity. I plan to record some workouts using these - so stay tuned for those.
